Passion Flower

Passion Flower is a woody vine with flowers which also bears small berry-like fruit and is native to North, Central and South America. Native Americans used it primarily as a sedative and it was popular in Europe as a folk remedy. Today it is used primarily as a sedative and digestive aid.
Passion Flower reduces spasms and depresses the central nervous system. It is prized for its relaxing and anti-anxiety effects and is particularly effective in treating the symptoms of sleeplessness brought on by nicotine withdrawal. Flavonoids contain properties to naturally induce relaxation and sleep, with easy, light breathing and little or no neural or mental depression. Unlike a narcotic sleep aid, there is no addiction and no side effects upon awakening.
